Here is the link to our Walt Whitman website website
http://waltwhitman.edublogs.org
The videos still arent working, and i have no idea why but im still working on it.
Coop and I are almost done doing our lesson plan for Whitman. He is pretty interesting so far. We are just dividing everything up and getting ready to put it together. Mr. Murray gives a very vague rubric of our presentation, so were just gonna do it and hope it all works
So Coop and I chose to do Walt Whitman. So far we discovered that he is sexual. Mr. Murray suggested him so we should have known. It is going pretty good, we are in the research stage right now but were moving along steadily.
So this week in Ets we’ve been watching a couple movies. The first was ” A Streetcar Named Desire”. It was pretty good, however very hard to undertstand. The main character had a very unique voice that almost all of the time made no sense. The famous “stella!” scene was pretty sweet, and it was cool to finally see the movie where it took place.
The other movie we watched was Titus, very odd. I’m pretty sure that im not going to sleep well for a while…
Using Reader Response Criticism to analyze “The Time Machine” by H.G. Wells, completely changes the meaning of the text.
We’ve got a crisis on our hands. After fighting with other students to get the “best” topic for our Lit Crit presentations, it seems as though Marxism is not as cool, or as fun as we thought it would be.
This will take you to the slide show about marxist literary criticism

ETS…whats up?
In the first literature studies class of all time,
I would like to learn how to rhyme.
I would love to read some Baker, some Barker and maybe even some Boyle.
Once thats through and through I might move on to some Fowles.
I would like to read, then talk with friends,
It might make it easier to comprehend.
I would like to accomplish some good grades,
So the parental unit is not ashamed.
I shall contribute my input and my words of wisdom, to anyone who needs it,
I will take criticism happily, without taking a fit.
I might contribute a song here or there,
Although everyone might stop and stare.
I will contribute a helping hand,
To aid someone to understand.
I will contribute happiness, life and love
Although i may have lied in the line above.
I will be held responsible when I am late,
For that I will allow you to hate.
I will be responsible for being rude,
Although it may just be my mood.
I will need help from the one they call Murray,
He may be hard to find, for he is always in a hurry.
I will need help from my peers,
Who can make things a bit more clear.
Success looks like a 95, an 84
Or even a simple, “this blogs a score!”
Sometimes success is being proud,
Even if the grades are not as loud.
I shall be rewarded with a pat on the back,
A hand shake or a simple laugh.
I should be punished with a slap on the wrist,
A “this blows” or a little hiss.
Oh the things I will learn in this class,
The times we’ll have, the times we’ll laugh.
Oh the books I will read, the people I will meet,
And it has only been the first week.
